The universities in the US have very good research facilities and are a haven for students wanting to go in for higherstudies. I completed my PhD in the year 2001 at the University of Kentucky, USA. I would recommend the University to any Indian student coming to the US!!

I had completed my Masters in Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology. My admit to the University of Kentucky was pretty clear-cut. No issues with the visa and other formalities.

I was awarded the Dissertation year fellowship in the year Aug 1997. I also had the opportunity to work as a Research Assistant and a Teaching assistant at the university.

I had the opportunity to publish extensively. It was a rich learning experience.

I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
