This is a very good university provided you are serious about studying because education is pretty costly when compared to many other universities. This place is very good to experience as a student as well as a professional.

I took the IELTS exam as a part of the Language proficiency exam (similar to TOEFL). I prepared from the Online materials for the test. Coaching was not needed by me because I was good with English (Listening, Writing, Talking and Reading). I did not use any counselor services. I did need an F1 VISA. The interview was a piece of cake (very easy) since all the documents I submitted were carefully organized and were originals. (I HAVE NOT CREATED ANY FALSE DATA OR DOCUMENTS) also unlike many others I answered all the Questions in one word and was very spontaneous. Tickets to my destination were/ are easily available. I took the Malaysian Airlines. It was good. There was no student fare. I landed in Los Angles International Airport. The University is about half an hour to one hour (in traffic) to the airport. The baggage rules keep changing from time to time. I had 2 bags of 32lbs and 1 cabin with 7lbs and maybe a laptop or hand bag (no weight limit). Excess baggage needs to be paid. Did not face any immigration issues except for spending 2 hrs at the counter waiting for my turn since there were a lot of students. There was no Meet and Greet or any kind of service. The services were stopped in the year 2005.

There are no aids, or scholarships or assistantships due to the economy and also because they offer a lot of on campus jobs.

The Program Is awesome. The professors are excellent but there is always room for improvement. The lecture halls are very good. Library is very huge with a lot of material and also database where electronic copies of books can be acquired.

I live near the campus in an apartment along with a couple of other students. I do not live in the campus accommodation since it is very costly for the international students. Sports facilities are available. It is pretty tough to get a job on – campus since there are a lot of international students so its a first come first serve basis. So apply early! Night life is pretty much safe and is great. The weather is pretty much like India except for the extremeness. There are a lot of international student groups and communities. All the festivals, competitions, exam preparation – night outs are handled.

The university has a career center which brings in companies who are hiring for Job Fairs. There is a program for honors students (3.5 or above GPA) for whom the university directly sends the student to the recruiter.
