The core area of my course was drafting. This was one of the best universites for this subject. Most of the IITs back then (not sure how it is now) did not have CAE with CFD concepts and this course offered me that.

I had to take GRE and TOEFL. The application process was not very difficult, my I20 was slightly delayed - I attended my visa interview in Delhi and the VO was not very harsh. I worked for a year in modelling and design before I applied to study abroad.

Since I had a year's relevant work ex I was able to appreciate the course much more than some of my classmates who were freshers when they joined. The professors were very supportive and it was a very enjoyable experience.

I lived off campus with a few friends. It was fun.

Getting jobs back then was not very difficult, conditions have changed now.
